TROY, Ala. – The reigning Sun Belt Conference Champions will kickstart their next title run on Tuesday at home against Talladega College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

Troy will welcome Talladega College into Trojan Arena to open the 2021-22 campaign, marking the 26^th meeting between the two squads. The Trojans hold the series lead 20-5.

Storylines

While the Trojans have seven women on the team with college degrees already, Troy also boasts a veteran staff as Chanda Rigby enters her 10th season at the helm of the Troy Women's Basketball program. Associate head coach Jennifer Graf has been alongside Rigby all 10 season while assistants Courtney Simmons and Neil Harrow enter their ninth and seventh year respectively.
Last season, Troy ranked inside the top 5 of scoring offense for the entire season, finishing 3rd in the NCAA in points per game (86.0) while scoring the 6th most total points.
The Trojans left off on an impressive home win streak. Troy set a single-season record for consecutive wins inside Trojan Arena at seven straight. The streak began on Jan. 2, 2020 in Troy's 85-65 win over App State with the seventh win coming on Feb. 19 against Georgia State. The streak currently sits at eight games with the chance to be extended at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Exactly a week before the start of the 2021-22 campaign, Troy spent the day (Tuesday, Nov. 2) volunteering to pick up trash around Troy, hang out with the kids and work in the greenhouse at the Christian Love Center and help organize the Salvation Army.
The Trojans landed three on the Sun Belt Preseason Women's Basketball teams. Felmas Koranga was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Women's Basketball First Team, and Jasmine Robinson and Tiyah Johnson to the second team.
The Trojans boast an experienced squad with seven women already having a college degree (Jada Walton, Tina Stephens, Jasmine Robinson, Janiah Sandifer Tiyah Johnson, Bre Harris and Jhileiya Dunlap). Felmas Koranga will graduate with her bachelors in December.
