Troy Football Need to Know - Georgia Southern Game

TROY, Ala. – Football is back at The Vet on Saturday when Troy hosts Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt home opener for the Trojans. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. between the Trojans and Eagles. Below is a full breakdown of all the happenings in and around the stadium before and during the game Saturday.
Fans can visit TroyTrojans.com/Gameday prior to each visit to campus to see the latest information on parking, traffic flow and tickets for each of Troy's home games.
Troy Athletics Kids Zone
The Troy Kids Zone opens at 2 p.m. in Tailgate Terrace. Children of all ages are invited to take part in the fun with free inflatables until 5 p.m. This year, new to the Kids Zone will be a pair of Troy inflatables for the kids to play on with a Troy bounce house and a Troy football/soccer interactive game.
Traffic Information
George Wallace Drive will CLOSE two (2) hours prior to kickoff until one (1) hour after the completion of the game from International Blvd. (traffic light at Charles Henderson High School) to Johnny Long Drive.
- Fans with access to National Guard Armory Lot and North End Zone Lot will be granted access to those lots within the two-hour closure with the proper parking pass. ALL traffic to those lots MUST enter from the north end of George Wallace Drive – from Downtown/Elm Street, not Highway 231.
Ticket Sales
Tickets are sold on gameday at the following locations:
Main Ticket Office (Tine Davis Fieldhouse) - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Riddle-Pace Field - 12 p.m. until halftime
Gate 1 - 2 p.m. until halftime
Football Letterwinners Day at The Vet
All past football letterwinners are welcomed back for this event and there will be special recognitions for "Billy's Boys" and the FBS era letterwinners.
Returning letterwinners can receive up to four complimentary tickets to the game and are invited to an exclusive pregame tailgate in Tailgate Terrace. Additionally, returning letterwinners will be able to participate in Trojan Walk and be recognized on the field at the end of the first quarter.
Troy will also have a special recognition for all former letterwinners who played during the Trojans' FBS era. The 2021 season marks the 20th anniversary of Troy's move to the highest level of collegiate football.
Horn Beverage Tailgate Terrace Concert Series
Troy's popular Horn Beverage Tailgate Concert Series returns for the 2021 season with an exciting lineup for each of the Trojans' six home games at The Vet. The free concerts will take place each week in Tailgate Terrace three hours before kickoff.
Halle Nolan returns to the Horn Beverage Tailgate Terrace Concert Series stage to perform before the game. While only 17-years old, Halle has performed at numerous venues and events, including The Listening Room, Troy Fest, Tootsies, SEC Fan Fest, CMA Fan Fest and the Tin Roof in Nashville.
Trojan Walk
Troy's traditional pre-game march into Veterans Memorial Stadium, Trojan Walk, will begin at the intersection of University Avenue and George Wallace Drive. The Trojans will walk through the brick portal into Tailgate Terrace before entering the stadium at Gate 1. Trojan Walk will begin at 3:45 p.m.
Student Promotions
On Saturday, the first 2,000 Troy University students inside The Vet will receive a free pink Troy rally towel as we support breast cancer awareness throughout the game.
Student Guest Tickets
Troy students may purchase $10 student guest tickets for this game. Students may visit the Troy Ticket Office or call 334-670-3681 to take advantage of this offer to bring family and friends to the game; student guest tickets are only available until 5 p.m. on Friday.
Parent & Family Weekend
Troy University will hold a special tailgate to celebrate Parent & Family Weekend on campus beginning at 4 p.m. in Tailgate Terrace. Discounted tickets are available by visiting TroyTrojans.com/FamilyWeekend by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.
Troy Sports Radio Network Pregame Show
Studio host Doug Amos is joined by "Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight, game analyst Jerry Miller and sideline reporter Junior Louissaint on location in Tailgate Terrace for the radio pregame show beginning at 4 p.m. to preview the game on the full Troy Sports Radio Network.
High School Band Day
Nearly 1,000 high school band members representing 32 bands will be on hand for one of the most entertaining halftime performances of the year. Visit TroyTrojans.com/BandDay for special ticket discounts by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.
Varsity Spirit Day
Nearly 200 high school and middle school cheerleaders will be on campus for a pregame camp hosted by Varsity Spirit, along with an appearance by the Troy Cheerleaders in Trojan Arena. This group will also perform prior to kickoff on the field.
KW Plastics Recycling Bins
Be on the lookout around the stadium for KW Plastics recycling bins for your plastic drink bottles.
Kick COVID
The Alabama Department of Public Health will be on-site Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. with free COVID-19 vaccinations for fans wishing to participate. Fans who get their vaccine on gameday or with 14 days prior to the game or seven days after will receive a $75 gift card to the Troy University Bookstore.

During Trojan Day, you will learn more about admissions, scholarships and housing and have the opportunity to ask questions at our in-depth Admissions presentation. After the presentation, you can experience the beautiful Troy Campus, including visiting our academic facilities and student life areas.
