Women's Tennis Opens Play at Roberta Allison Fall Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team picked up a pair of victories on the opening day of the Roberta Alison Fall Classic on Friday at the University of Alabama Tennis Center.

The duo of Kristina Kukaras and Michelle Ncube won their opening round matchup against Tulane's Lily Walther and Cora Barber by a 6-2 margin to advance to the winner's side of the Bentley/Stephenson Doubles Draw.

Anastasiia Khokhlova and Andrea Widing dropped their first two matches of the day in the Guarachi/Macfarlane Daines Double Draw before knocking off Indiana's Sayda Hernandez and Xiaowei Hu 6-2.

The four doubles draws were played to their conclusion Friday, setting up a full day of singles action on Saturday. In addition to the four players who saw action in doubles, Olivia Elliott will hit the court for the Trojans in singles.
