Troy Women’s Tennis Set for Roberta Alison Classic

TROY, Ala. – After a two week-long hiatus after the ITA Southern Regional, the Troy Women's Tennis team will return to action on Friday in the Roberta Alison Classic hosted by Alabama.
Michelle Ncube found success on this same court two weeks ago in the ITA Southern Regional, where she fought her way through the qualifying rounds to earn a spot in the main draw.
The junior didn't drop a set through her first two days of action but eventually came up short in the round of 32 to LSU's Mia Rabinowitz, 6-2 6-3.
The duo of Andrea Widing and Anastasiia Khokholva defeated Tulane's Yelamanchili/ Russell, 8-7, to advance to the Doubles Round of 16. However, the pair ultimately fell to Alabama's Parkhomenko/ Sedlackova, 8-4.
This week's action will kickstart on Friday and concludes Saturday. The tournament consists of 15 teams including SEC foes Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Ole Miss.
The squad will close out the fall with the same lineup of Olivia Elliott, Anastasiia Khokhlova, Kristina Kukaras, Michelle Ncube and Andrea Widing.
