Widing Leads Trojans at Final Day of Roberta Alison Fall Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Led by sophomore Andrea Widing, Troy women's tennis closed out play at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by the University of Alabama.
After dropping the opening set 6-2 to Dolavee Tumthong, Widing rebounded for a clutch 6-3 victory in the second set. In the third set tiebreaker, Widing cruised to 10 of the 12 points to earn the victory.
Other results Saturday included Oliva Elliott dropping a third-set heartbreaker (10-5), Kristina Kukaras falling in straight sets (6-2, 6-3) to Katie Andreini of Virginia Tech and Michelle Ncube falling 7-6, 7-5 to Sydney Clark of UAB.
Eliott gave off to a flying start, winning the first set 6-1, before falling 6-1 in the second and 10-5 in the tiebreaker. Ncube dropped the opening set in a tiebreaker, before also falling in the second.

With the fall slate behind them, the Trojans turn their attention to the championship spring season.
