Troy is coming off a strong outing a week ago at the KMS Invite where the Trojan throwers flexed their muscles. Senior Austin Snyder has broken a school record in both of the meets he's competed in this year, most recently with a 16.89m toss in the shot put.
Last Sunday, Naquita Williams recorded a mark of 16.16m to win the weight throw while Biniosa Ezukuse earned silver with a toss of 15.98m. Two Trojans finished on the podium in the shot put after Samara Nelson (13.48m) placed first and Ezukuse (12.81m) secured her second podium finish of the day after coming in third.
The Trojan runners have also had a productive spring so far. Tanner Guest found the podium twice last Sunday, once in the mile (5:06.52, 2nd) and again in the 800m (2:17.35, 3rd). Edita Sklenska earned gold in the 800m (2:10.04) while Jasmine Riley set a new personal record in the semis of the 60m dash with a time of 7.55 before eventually earning bronze in the final.
Kasia Cooper (57.18) and Alexandria Rankin (1:39.48) each earned third-place finishes in their last time out in the 400m and 600m, respectively. Cadi Rowe headlined the distance runners last Sunday with a time of 10:18.08 in the 3000m to finish in second place.
On the men's side, Titus Sizemore and Chance Armstrong are each coming off strong performances at the KMS Invite. Sizemore won the high jump with a mark of 2.10m while Armstrong earned silver in the 800m with a time of 5:17.33.
The Scarlet and Black Invitational will serve as a gauge to see where the Trojans line up in the conference race as several Sun Belt teams will be competing at the meet, including Arkansas State, Little Rock, Louisiana, Memphis, South Alabama and ULM.
