Men’s Golf Opens Spring Season at Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's golf team opens its spring season at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate the Georgia Southern University Golf Course on Sunday and Monday. Six Trojans will compete in the 54-hole individual event.

Troy's top four players from the fall – Brent Hamm, Will McFadden, Ryan Morrison and George Burch – will all compete in the spring opener while Bryson Bianco will make his second appearance of the season and Mac Suber will make his Trojan debut after joining the program this semester.

Hamm and Morrison led the Trojans with seven of their eight fall rounds counting towards the team card. Hamm shot four of his eight rounds under par with a pair of rounds in the 60s as he posted a 73.00 scoring average. McFadden (75.00), Morrison (75.25) and Burch (75.75) were all within a stroke of each other in the fall with a combined four rounds under par.

Bianco competed in the season-opening Graeme McDowell Invitational with a low round of 2-over 74 to open the season, while Suber joined the Troy program out of Plant High School in Tampa, Fla.

Following the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate, the Trojans open the team portion of their spring schedule Feb. 19-21 at the Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State.
