Troy Future Football Schedule Review – Troy & Southern Miss Ink Four-Game Series

TROY, Ala. – Troy's future football schedules have begun to take shape over the past two months with the announcement of 10 new non-conference matchups to take place over the coming years. Prior to the recent string of game announcements, Troy released several key non-conference matchups including a four-game series with Southern Miss.
Prior to a home-and-home series the schools concluded last season, Troy and Southern Miss had met just once since 1977 when they played in the 2008 New Orleans Bowl. The Trojans defeated the Golden Eagles, 37-31, in Hattiesburg in 2016 to kickstart a seven-game winning streak that landed the Trojans in the AP Top 25.
The new four-year deal has Southern Miss traveling to Troy on Sept. 21, 2024, and Sept. 16, 2028, while Troy will visit Hattiesburg on Sept. 18, 2021 and Sept. 1, 2029.
Troy has home-and-home series on the books with Mississippi State, Army, UAB, Southern Miss, Memphis, Western Kentucky and UMass between 2021 and 2033.
Season tickets for the 2020 season are on sale now and fans who purchase or renew their tickets during the month of July will be eligible for Troy's "Summer of Prizes" giveaways.
Season ticket packages start as low as $60 for general admission seating and $100 for reserved seats for Troy's six home games at The Vet. Tickets can be purchased or renewed by calling 877-878-WINS (9467) or by visiting TroyTrojans.com/tickets.
Troy returns a pair of All-Americans on defense in junior linebacker Carlton Martial and sophomore safety Dell Pettus. In addition, Martial was named to the Walter Camp Preseason All-America First Team heading into the 2020 campaign.
The offense returns a slew of playmakers from a unit that featured a top-25 scoring offense (33.8 points per game) and top-18 overall offense (456.3 yards per game). Troy returns 2019 Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year Kaylon Geiger and 2019 Sun Belt Offensive Preseason Player of the Year B.J. Smith at receiver and running back, respectively.
