D1 Baseball 2020 Sun Belt Conference Wrap
Â
TROY, Ala. – Four Trojans were mentioned in D1 Baseball's Sun Belt Conference Wrap as part of the prestigious publication's look back at the shortened 2020 season. Among those mentioned, Levi Thomas was named the most impressive pitcher while Drew Frederic was listed as the most impressive senior.
Â
Thomas posted a 0.39 ERA to go along with 42 strikeouts compared to just six walks. The junior held opposing batters to a .117 average in his 23 innings pitched on the year. Thomas was thrust into the national spotlight after tossing six scoreless innings at No. 1 Florida.
Â
Frederic was also on pace for an outstanding season after leading the Trojans with a .409 average, the second-best mark in the conference. The senior also stole a league-best 11 bases on just 13 attempts. Frederic scored 18 runs through the first 17 games, bringing his career total to 171, the most among active NCAA Division I players.Â
Â
D1 Baseball also listed first baseman William Sullivan among the league's best freshman, citing his .396/.468/.547 slash line to go along with six doubles, including four in one game against Northern Kentucky.
Â
Rigsby Mosley was named the Sun Belt's seventh-best 2020 MLB draft prospect, while Thomas was listed as the eighth-best prospect.
Â
Mosley was hitting at a .351 clip and scored a team-best 20 runs before the season was abruptly halted. Ten of Mosley's 26 hits went for extra bases, highlighted by a grand slam in the Saturday contest at No. 1 Florida. The junior notched seven doubles in just 17 games, which tied for second in the Sun Belt and was the 34th-most in the country.
