Troy Heads to Montgomery for Matchup Against Southern Miss

TROY, Ala. – Troy continues its 11-game stretch away from Riddle-Pace Field as it heads to Montgomery, Ala. for a Tuesday matchup against Southern Miss at Riverwalk Stadium. Fans are invited to join Troy Athletics at the Club Car Bar from 5-6 p.m. for a pregame social.

The Trojans look to rebound after a tough loss against Louisiana to close out the Cox Diamond Invitational Sunday in Pensacola. Troy meets Southern Miss for the 31st time in the schools' history, but just the sixth time at a neutral site.
Troy still ranks highly in several national offensive statistics, ranking fourth in doubles (45) and 11th in hits (168).
Caleb Bartolero has hit safely in every game so far this season and is riding a career-long hitting streak of 16 games. The sophomore catcher has hit nine doubles this season, tied for the fourth-most in the country.
Dalton Sinquefield is beginning to find his offensive groove again and is 6-8 with a home run and a double in the last two games. Fellow senior Drew Frederic is batting a team best .412 over the last five games including a perfect 4-4 day in Saturday's win over Samford.
Bay Witcher is expected to make his third start of the year on the mound for the Trojans. The sophomore right-hander was effective in his last outing against UAB, striking out four in 4.2 innings.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN MISS
Southern Miss enters Tuesday's matchup with an 11-4 record and is fresh off a 2-1 series win over Little Rock. Charlie Fischer leads the Golden Eagles with a .345 average while Matthew Guidry has reached base in 71-straight games and holds a .333 average. Lefty Drew Boyd (0-0, 7.71 ERA) will get the start on the mound for Southern Miss.

As part of the event, Troy Athletics will host a pregame social at the Club Car Bar from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to hear from Director of Athletics Brent Jones, head football coach Chip Lindsey, head volleyball coach Josh Lauer and head women's soccer coach Ged O'Connor.
