HEAD COACH SCOTT CROSS:
"This was a very disappointing performance all the way around. We didn't compete from the tip. Our guys have to play harder and tougher. There were very few things that we did right tonight. We had three very good days of practice and I felt like our guys were ready. Unfortunately, we fell behind early. Sometimes when you fall behind guys press and stop moving the ball. When guys stop playing together you don't get open shots. When you force shots, it leads to easy buckets on the other end. It snowballed on us tonight. We need to get back to doing the basics. The little things like moving the ball and getting good shots. On defense we need to get in a stance and do a better job of communicating. We have to be tougher and compete. We'll get back to work tomorrow and try and figure out a way to beat App State on Saturday, which won't be easy because they have a good team that plays extremely hard. We know our guys are capable of doing it, they just have to find it within themselves to play up to their potential."
