Men's Golf Climbs on Final Day of LaTour Intercollegiate

MATTHEWS, La. – Troy fired its third lowest round of the season with an 8-under 280 to climb three spots into seventh place following Tuesday's final round of the LaTour Intercollegiate at the LaTour Golf Club.
Nicklas Borrmann carded an eagle and five birdies en route to a career-best 5-under 67 to pace the Trojans in the final round. His career effort pushed him 19 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 35th place overall. Borrmann's card reached as low as 7-under following a birdie on the ninth, but a pair of bogeys over his final four holes settled his score at 67 for the day.
Will McFadden led the Trojans with a 20th-place performance after a 7-spot climb in the final round. McFadden carded five birdies on the day at shot 2-under for his third straight round under par in the event; his 212 was Troy's sixth-best 54-hole score of the year.
Troy's 8-under marked the fifth-best round on the course of the day and pushed the Trojans in to the middle of the field after they sat at the bottom following the opening round.
Connor Futrell and Brent Hamm tied for 39th place overall at 1-over for the week; Futrell was even par in Tuesday's final round while Hamm shot 3-over. Ryan Morrison tied for 50th following a 1-under 71 in the final round and Bryson Bianco, who played as an individual, tied for 59th place at 8-over.
Troy has a quick turnaround with a trip to the Seminole Intercollegiate Saturday and Sunday in Tallahassee, Fla.
