TROY, Ala. -- The Troy men's basketball program closes out a five-game road trip Thursday night at North Alabama for a 6 p.m. contest.Â
Â
The trip began Nov. 26th in Asheville, N.C. for the Mako Medical Asheville Classic. After the two games against WCU (Nov. 27) and UNCW (Nov. 28), the Trojans boarded a bus for Winston-Salem. After the game against Wake was canceled on Nov. 30th, Troy instead boarded a bus home for Troy.
Â
Two days later the Trojans were back on the road for a Dec. 4th contest at then No. 17 Texas Tech. The fourth game of the trip was Sunday at UAB.
Â
With a victory, Troy would notch its first road victory since they beat Georgia State in Atlanta back on Feb. 1.
Â
The Trojans return to action next Wednesday afternoon when the Samford Bulldogs visit Trojan Arena for a 6 p.m. tip.

PLANES BUSES AND TRAINS?
The Troy Trojans have yet to play a home game this season. After the conclusion of Sunday's game against UAB, the Trojans will have played four games in three different states (N.C., Texas and Alabama). Just this week alone the Trojans have spent nights in Asheville, Winston-Salem, Troy, Lubbock and Birmingham. The current five game road swing has eclipsed the 4,000-mile mark and will total almost 5,000 before it's completed. Since Thanksgiving morning until Dec. 6, Troy has spent just one day on campus (Tuesday, Dec. 1). The Trojans will not play outside the state of Alabama the rest of the calendar year (three home, @North Alabama, @Auburn).
Â
INTO THE WOODS
Freshman Kam Woods has scored 46 points through Troy's first three games. Woods scored 20 in the season-opener against WCU and scored a Troy best 13 against No. 17 TTU Friday. Woods scored just 5 points Sunday against UAB and was just 1-for-10. The freshman's 11.1 points are the most by a true freshman in the Sun Belt Conference.
ZAY DAY
Junior Zay Williams made his triumphant return to action Friday, contributing 15 points and nine rebounds. Williams was a team best plus-11 in his 25 minutes of action. On Saturday Williams turned in eight points and nine rebounds. The junior averaged 11.1 points a season ago.
ROAD WARRIORS
Troy will open the 2020-21 campaign with six straight games away from Trojan Arena. Troy was scheduled to open the season with a home game against Middle Georgia State but that game was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns inside the Knights program.
SLEPT AWAY FROM HOME
Troy spent 10 of 11 nights away from Troy from Nov. 25-Dec. 6. Troy spent nights in Asheville, N.C., Winston-Salem, N.C., Lubbock, Texas and Birmingham, Ala. The Trojans lone night at home in that span was Dec. 1.
