TROY, Ala. – Troy men's basketball defeated Stillman College, 93-65, on Wednesday night in the Trojans' lone exhibition game before opening the regular season next Monday.
Robert Davis Jr. led Troy offensively with 18 points, knocking down six three-pointers on the night.
Donovan Oday also impressed in front of the Trojan faithful, finishing with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Other double-figure scorers included Jacoi Hutchinson with 12 points and Mobi Ikegwuruka with 10.
Cauã Pacheco facilitated the offense, dishing out a game-high four assists.
Troy shot 52.6 percent (30-of-57) from the field and 44.8 percent (13-of-29) from three-point range. The Trojans also capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 20-of-24 attempts (83.3 percent), including 17-of-19 (89.5 percent) in the first half.
"It was good to be back in front of a home crowd tonight," head coach Adam Howard said. "Our guys got a chance to get some of the wrinkles out. Didn't really love our approach to some areas of the game but give Stillman a lot of credit for that. Playing in front of people for the first time you see some mistakes, but it was good to get one under the lights one last time before this thing starts for real on Monday."
