Troy's previous high was 39th (15.8 apg) set last season.
DECEMBER IS KIND TO TROY
Troy has been nearly unbeatable in the month of the December. The Trojans had their 11-game winning streak in the month of December snapped at the hands of No. 12 Mississippi State on Monday. Prior to Monday Troy's last loss in December was back on Dec. 4, 2018 against Middle Tennessee. The Trojans have a chance to start a new streak on Thursday against Middle Tennessee.
TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE
Troy is currently being led in scoring by seniors Alexus Dye (18.8 ppg) & Tiyah Johnson (17.0 ppg). Over the past few seasons Troy has become known for having multiple student-athletes averaging just under 10.0 ppg and the last time Troy had someone averaging over 15.0 ppg was back in 2016 when Ashley Beverly Kelley averaged 19.9 ppg. The last time Troy had two players average over 15 points per game was in 2015 when Kelley averaged 17.6 ppg and Ronita Garrett who averaged 15.6 ppg.
BACK IN THE TOP 25
After a brief, one-week hiatus, Troy found itself back inside the Mid-Major Top 25 Poll at No. 25. Following last week's omission Troy had been ranked for nine straight weeks dating back to Jan. 29, 2020. Troy opened the year at No. 11.
ONE AWAY FROM 150
Head coach Chanda Rigby is one win away from milestone victory No. 150 of her NCAA and Troy career. The ninth year head coach has completely transformed the Troy program since she took over in 2012, inheriting a program that won just two games before she arrived. Rigby guided her first team to seven wins, the same number Troy had won the previous two seasons combined, and has since won three Sun Belt Champions and has made two NCAA appearances.
10 X 10
Through five games Alexus Dye is averaging a double-double with 18.8 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game. She has recorded four double-doubles in Troy's five games. Her four double-doubles are tied for the fourth most nationally.
A STRONG START FOR MOORE
Tyasia Moore has been in a groove this season. The senior from Washington, D.C. is averaging 12.0 points per game and has reached double-digit scoring in each of the last four games while shooting 55 percent from the field. Moore and Dye were the only two Trojans to reach double-figures against Mississippi State.
