Women’s Golf Wraps Fall at Mercer Invitational

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's golf team wraps its fall campaign this week at the Mercer Invitational on the 6,218-yard Brickyard Golf Course in Macon, Ga. The 10-team field will play 36 holes Monday and follow with 18 holes Tuesday.
Troy enters its fourth tournament of the fall ranked 32nd nationally in the latest Golfweek Collegiate Rankings and sophomore Nicole Lorup checks in 108th nationally on the Golfweek Individual Rankings.
Lorup carries a 72.89 stroke average and 1.22 score vs. par into the final event of the fall and carries a Troy-low 68 on her season card. Lourp is one of three Trojans – ShaeLee Scarberry and Elisabeth Preus – to have 8-of-9 individual rounds count towards the team card this year.
Scarberry leads the Trojans with two rounds in the red this fall, both rounds of 1-under, and she checks in just behind Lorup with a 2.89 score vs. par and 74.55 average for the fall. Preus has played six of her nine rounds within three shots of par and enters the week with a 4.0 score vs. par and 75.67 stroke average.
Courtney Vogel will make her fourth appearance of the fall for the Trojans after transferring into the program this summer. She is fourth on the team with a 76.11 stroke average and has one round under par this fall. Anna Claire Little is in the lineup for the third time after she finished strong with a 3-over 147 in the final 36 holes her last time out; she carries a 76.67 average into the Mercer Invitational.
Troy has competed against eight of the 10 teams in the field at one point or another already this fall and the Trojans enter the event 19-13 overall.

Teams will play together for Monday's two rounds; the Trojans' five golfers will hit the course beginning at 7:15 a.m. (CT) on the 17th hole.
