TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's golf team continues its busy fall season with a trip to Pine Mountain, Ga., for the Callaway Gardens Invite on the Lake View Course. The three-day event begins Monday and teams will play one round each day.
The Trojans' trip to Georgia was a late addition after the Little Rock Women's Golf Classic scheduled for this week was canceled.
Troy is coming off a third-place finish at the Lady Red Wolves Classic last week paced by a trio of top-20 finishes from Nicole Lorup, ShaeLee Scarbery and Elisabeth Preus. Scarberrry and Courtney Vogel carded Troy's first rounds in the red on the season with a 1-under 71 and 3-under 69, respectively, during the event.
Lorup leads Troy with a 73.50 stroke average through the first six rounds of the year while Scarberry (75.33), Vogel (75.83) and Preus (76.00) are bunched up in the two thru four slots in the lineup.
Anna Claire Little returns to the lineup for the Trojans while Elizabeth Caldarelli will make her second straight appearance for head coach Randy Keck's squad. Teams will play with six golfers with the top four scores in each round counting towards the team card.
The Lake View Course will play 6,006 yards for the tournament and will be a par 71 setup; Troy's first two events of the year were both on par 72 courses.
