Cowart Leads Troy on Day Two of USA Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – True freshman Ainsley Cowart carded three birdies and fired her first career under-par round as a college golfer to lead Troy in Sunday's second round of the USA Intercollegiate at the Robert Trent Jones Magnolia Grove Golf Course. The Trojans are in fourth place overall and just a shot back of second.

Cowart came out the gate firing with birdies on two of her first three holes before eventually making the turn at 1-under. She pushed her card to 2-under with a birdie on the par-3 14^th, but a bogey on No. 15 set her 1-under for the day and tied for 29^thoverall.

Anna Claire Little is Troy's leader in the clubhouse at 2-under par after shooting a 2-over 74 on Sunday. She is tied for fifth place and is competing as an individual in the tournament. Nicole Lorup delivered a pair of birdies and finished 1-over to sit tied for 16^thheading into Monday's final round, and ShaeLee Scarberry is tied for 18^thafter she added a round of 2-over with three birdies.

UAB holds a 10-shot lead over both North Florida and Houston Baptist following two rounds while the Trojans are in fourth place.

Judith Castro is tied for 24^thfollowing four birdies and an even-par round, and Elisabeth Preus is tied for 38^thafter shooting 5-over on the day. Playing as individuals, Sarah Johnson had a solid round with four birdies to shoot even-par, and Brooklyn Bostick finished with one birdie for a round of 81.

Teams face a shotgun start for Monday's final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Trojans will be paired with Arkansas State and Western Kentucky, both of which are just a shot back of Troy.
