Troy Names Deonne Moore Assistant AD for Marketing & Promotions

TROY, Alabama – Deonne Moore has been named Troy University's Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions, Troy Director of Athletics Brent Jones announced Wednesday afternoon.

"We are extremely excited about having Deonne join Troy Athletics," Jones said. "Deonne is one of the most talented marketers in all college athletics, and we are extremely fortunate to have him become part of our team. Deonne's passion, integrity, creativity, work ethic and vision thoroughly impressed our staff and coaches during the interview process. I have personally watched him over the last eight years help transform two different universities' marketing departments, and I am confident that he will continue our momentum."

Moore joins the Troy staff following three-plus years as the Assistant AD for Marketing and Promotions at Oklahoma Baptist. Moore oversaw all of the sports marketing efforts for Oklahoma Baptist's 22 sports in addition to overseeing the sports information department.

During his tenure at Oklahoma Baptist, Moore created a student internship program called The Charge Crew, increased men's basketball attendance by 55 percent, increased women's basketball attendance by 80 percent and attained the highest attended football game of Oklahoma Baptist's NCAA Division II history.

Moore came to OBU from Southern Miss, where he served as Athletics Marketing Associate. Moore began his career with the Golden Eagles as a sports marketing volunteer before serving as an intern and eventually a graduate assistant with the sports marketing department.

At Southern Miss, Moore oversaw all fan engagement and promotions for volleyball and softball. He served as on-field and on-court promotions director for football and men's and women's basketball. He also assisted in setting attendance records for football, volleyball, and softball during his tenure at Southern Miss.

A native of Duck Hill, Mississippi, Moore earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Southern Miss in 2011 and a master's degree in sport management in 2015.
