#PROjans Report: Carter Earns Promotion, Hill Impresses

CJ Carter - Jupiter Hammerheads (Class A+)
C.J. Carter earned a promotion to the Marlins' Advanced Class A squad Jupiter Hammerheads where he has posted a 1.23 ERA through his first six games. In his last 10 appearances dating back to his time with the Clinton LumberKings, the Atlanta, Ga., native has struck out 17 batters in 15.2 innings. Carter has been especially tough against right-handers, posting a .190 average against and a .83 WHIP.
Logan Hill - Altoona Curve (Class AA)
Logan Hill's hot-hitting month of May earned him a promotion to Pittsburgh's Triple-A affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians. Hill made an early impact in Indianapolis, knocking a solo shot to deep center field in just his second game with the Indians. After a 14-game stint in Indianapolis, Hill returned to Altoona where he has scored a run in five of his last six games.

Brandon Lockridge continues to have a solid season in Charleston, S.C., for the Yankees' Class A affiliate. Lockridge has amassed a .432 slugging percentage this season for the Riverdogs and is hitting .256 with 6 runs batted in over his last 10 games. The Pensacola, Fla., native has tallied 39 extra-base hits this season which is tied for the second-most in the South Atlantic League.

Matt Sanders has recorded a hit in 24 of his last 30 games while playing for the Mariners Advanced Class A squad in Modesto. The Madison, Ala., native is hitting .257 with 8 runs batted in over his last 10 games for the Nuts. Hill was assigned to the West Virginia Power July 15. The Power play their second game in a three-game series Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. EDT against Columbia.
Daren Osby - Joliet Slammers (IND)
Daren Osby continues to pitch well for Joliet (Frontier League). The Decatur, Ga., native has posted a 2.54 ERA and struck out 57 batters in 60 innings pitched. Osby recently pitched for the Frontier League All-Stars against the Can-Am All-Stars. The right-hander went one inning, earning one strikeout.

Chase Smartt has appeared in 20 games this season for the New Jersey Jackals (CanAm League). The Troy, Ala., native is hitting .258 on the year and has nine runs batted in. Smartt has recorded a hit in three straight games and seven of his last eight.
