TROY, Alabama – Tate Moseley, formerly an outfielder at Auburn, will transfer to Troy, head coach Beth Mullins announced Wednesday.
Â
Moseley, a native of Trussville, Ala., received a redshirt last season and will have four years of eligibility at Troy.
Â
"We are really excited to welcome Tate to our Troy softball family," Mullins said. "She is a difference-maker at the plate and in the field. She is a great fit for our program. We are excited to get her on campus and get to work this fall."
Â
Moseley was a standout at Hewitt-Trussville High School where she was a four-year starter for the Huskies. She was selected to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State second team as a senior. Batting .416 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI, Moseley led Hewitt-Trussville to the AHSAA Class 7A Regional championship and an Area 7 title.
Â
Troy finished 37-20 last season, including a 19-8 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. The 19 conference wins where the most in program history. The team paced the league with a .974 fielding percentage and ranked fourth with a .263 batting average.
