Matthew Likely Set For NCAA Championship

Troy, Ala. – Troy track & field's Matthew Likely will compete in the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas on Wednesday evening.

Likely is set to run in the 200m preliminary race at 6:44 p.m. Likely will run in the first heat of the event with the top two times in each of the three heats automatically advance to the finals plus the next two fastest times.

At the NCAA East Preliminaries, likely ran the 200m first round race in 20.65 seconds to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Likely set his personal record with a time of 20.49 seconds, finishing 11th to make it to Austin, Texas.

Earlier this season at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, Likely took home the silver medal in the 200m dash with a time of 20.65 seconds.
