Conway, S.C. – Little Rock hit an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to hand Troy a tough 6-5 loss in Sun Belt Conference tournament baseball action at Springs Brooks Stadium on Wednesday morning.

Trailing 5-1 heading into the sixth inning, Troy (29-28) plated a run in the sixth off an RBI double from Dalton Sinquefield to reduce Little Rock's (29-26) lead. In the seventh, Reed Smith and Rigsby Mosley tallied back-to-back singles to place runners at first and second with one out.

Two batters later, Sadler Goodwin stepped in the box and hit a three-run home run to right field, his 10th long ball of the season, to tie the game at 5.

Little Rock answered in the eighth as Ryan Padilla hit a single to right center field which scored the game-winning run.

Smith finished the day with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate alongside a run scored and a stolen base. Mosley also tallied two hits in the contest with a run scored.

Austin Garofalo hit his second career homer in the fifth inning, marking his second home run in his last three at-bats at that point.

Ryan Fultz suffered the loss on the mound to move to 1-1 on the season after tossing one inning giving up one run on one hit. Cory Gill started for Troy and threw five innings with five strikeouts while sacrificing five runs on seven hits.
