Baseball Evens Series with 11-5 Win

Both teams mustered up 11 hits but five of the Trojans' (22-21, 10-10 Sun Belt) hits were for extra bases and Troy's defense forced Little Rock (20-22. 12-7 Sun Belt) to leave 10 runners on base.
At the plate, seniors Sadler Goodwin (5) and Chase Smartt (3) and freshman Logan Cerny (3) all registered a home run. Senior Cole Prestegard went 3-for-5 with an RBI while junior Drew Frederic also tuned in a three-hit performance with two runs scored and an RBI.
Sophomore Levi Thomas earned the win on the mound to improve to 5-2 on the season after throwing six innings giving up two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts.
Troy began the game with a four spot in the first inning highlighted by Cerny's three-run long ball over the left field wall. The Trojans kept their momentum in the third as Smartt blasted a two-run homer also over the left field wall and Prestegard followed behind with an RBI double to give Troy a commanding 7-0 lead.
Troy's final big inning came in the eighth as Goodwin hit a bomb to dead center field that scored two insurance runs to secure the win.

Despite not registering a hit, sophomore Rigsby Mosley reached base in the first inning off a fielding error by Little Rock's second baseman to increase his career-long reached base streak to 34 games.
