Troy, Ala. – Troy track & field continues action this upcoming weekend when It travels to Oxford, Miss., to compete in the Joe Walker Invitational held at Ole Miss at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex from April 12-13.Â

The meet kicks off with the heptathlon 100m hurdles at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The first field event is set for 2 p.m. with the women's hammer throw. The final day of action begins with the heptathlon long jump at 10 a.m.

Alabama A&M, Arkansas State, UAPB, Georgia Tech, Jackson State, McKendree, Millsaps, Mississippi Valley State, North Alabama, Ole Miss, SIU-Edwardsville, Southeast Missouri, West Alabama and Villanova (men's only).

Last Time Out
Troy competed at the Tiger Classic held by Auburn this past weekend where the Trojans set 25 season best performances and two personal records.
Â
Junior Caleb Brown paced the Trojans in the hammer throw, landing in third place out of 13 throwers with a distance of 54.69 meters. For the women, sophomore Naquita Williams is continuing her dominant performances in the hammer as she finished fourth out of 21 throwers with a mark of 55.59 meters.

Senior Niata Alexander finished fourth out of 33 runners in the 400m dash with a season best time of 54.49 seconds. Junior Jess Jacobsen finished third (45.11 meters) in the discus while sophomore Jordan Poole secured fifth place (44.21 meters).

Sophomore Macki Walsh ran the 5,000-meter race in a personal best time of 17:48.08 (ninth out of 27 runners), shattering her previous personal best by a little over 36 seconds. Sophomore Michaela Thompson finished the 100-meter hurdles in a personal best time of 14.64 seconds.
