Conway, S.C. – Troy men's basketball wraps up the 2018-19 season with a Saturday matchup against Coastal Carolina. Tip is set for 1 p.m. CT with the game broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Trojans (11-18, 4-13 Sun Belt) could not overcome a late first half surge by App State and dropped a 72-64 decision to the Mountaineers on Thursday night in Holmes Convocation Center.

In the game, sophomore Javan Johnson led all scorers with 17 points on 3-of-5 (60 percent) shooting from deep alongside six rebounds, two steals, a pair of assists and a block while senior BJ Miller followed behind with 14 points, a career-high tying five steals, three rebounds and one assist.

On the season, Troy currently sits second in the Sun Belt Conference in blocks per game averaging 4.6. Senior Alex Hicks paces the team in points per game (12.3) on 50.7 percent (139-274) shooting and in rebounds per game (8.2) which is the third-most in conference. Hicks is pulling down 8.5 rebounds per game in conference play, third in conference.

Johnson also averages double figures with 10.6 points per game. Sophomore Darian Adams leads the team in assists per game with 3.3, 10th in SBC. In conference action, Adams is averaging 3.9 assists per game, seventh-most in Sun Belt.

Scouting Coastal Carolina
Coastal dominated South Alabama in a 92-70 win on Thursday in Conway, S.C. After the win, the Chanticleers improved to 15-14 on the season and 9-8 in Sun Belt play.

In the game, senior Zac Cuthbertson led all scorers with 28 points including four three-pointers made alongside a game-high seven rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal. Junior Tyrell Gumbs-Frater followed behind with 17 on four made threes as well.

Cuthbertson leads the team in points per game (18.5), seventh in SBC and in rebounds per game (8.1) fourth in conference, including averaging 6.0 defensive rebounds per game, second in Sun Belt. As a team, Coastal sits third in three-point percentage (37.9).

Series History
Saturday's matchup marks the sixth-ever meeting between the two teams. Troy holds a 3-2 series lead and is a perfect 2-0 when the game is played in Conway. The Trojans slipped past Coastal, 66-65 in the last game in Conway on Feb. 15, 2018.

In the last meeting, Troy could not slow down the Chanticleers in an 88-75 loss to open conference play on Jan. 3, 2019. In the game, junior Charles Norman led the Trojans with 16 points on 3-of-5 shooting from deep while senior BJ Miller added 12 points.
