Troy Opens Conference Play with ULM

TROY, Alabama – Troy is set to open conference play at home as the ULM Warhawks come into town for a three-game series starting Friday afternoon at the Troy Softball Complex. Friday's game will be a doubleheader with game scheduled for 4 p.m. and the finale will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.

Troy (16-7) looks to bounce back after the midweek loss to Samford on Wednesday afternoon.

Katie Webb's dominating offensive efforts continues after going 2-for-3 with one RBI on Wednesday. Webb led the Trojans offensively going 10-for-17 with three doubles and six RBIs last weekend. Webb currently sits at second in the conference in hits with 28 and also leads the conference in total plate appearances.

Bailey Taylor leads the Sun Belt Conference in runs batted in with 24. Taylor has led the conference for two consecutive weeks now in RBIs and hit by pitches.

Leanna Johnson (10-3) heads into the weekend ranked second nationally in strikeouts with 101 coming in as relief Wednesday against Samford.

This weekend is Fan Appreciation Weekend at the Troy Softball Complex. Fans have the opportunity to win prizes throughout Friday afternoons games and the first 100 fans will receive a Troy drawstring bag.

Scouting the Warhawks
ULM enters the weekend 6-15. Sydney McKay leads the team offensive efforts batting a .441 and also leads the team in stolen bases with nine. Jessie Watts has also put up strong numbers at the plate leading the team in doubles with five and RBIs with 15.
