TROY, Alabama – Troy was defeated by South Alabama, 4-1, on Wednesday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex in the annual in-state rivalry showdown.

South Alabama's Patricia Martins defeated Troy's Chunxi Guo, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 to secure the victory for the Jaguars. Troy fell to 8-8 (2-3) while South Alabama improved to 15-2 (4-1) on the year.

DOUBLES
• Chunxi Guo and Pei Ju Hsieh defeated Martins and Pasanen, 6-2.
• Tingting Pei and Matea Mihaljevic secure the doubles match point for the Trojans over Fujioka and Stiteler, 6-4.
• In the final doubles match, Kohoutova and Takanashi defeated Maria Casas Blas and Celia Montero Estevan, 6-3.

SINGLES
• Stiteler defeated Mihaljevic, 6-1, 6-3.
• Hsieh was put down by Fujioka, 6-1, 6-1.
• Estevan was defeated by Kohoutova in a very decisive match on court three, 6-0, 6-3.
• Martins defeated Guo to secure the match victory for the Jaguars, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
