Track & Field Set to Host Doc Anderson Invitational

Troy, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's track and field teams are set to host the first-ever Doc Anderson Invitational at Troy University from March 15-16.Â

The meet will include five men teams while there will be eight women teams competing. The women's hammer throw is the first event on Friday and is set to begin at 3 p.m. Running events will begin on Saturday with the women's 4x100 leading things off at 12:30 p.m.

Men – Alabama A&M, Birmingham-Southern, Clayton State, Point University and Troy
Women – Alabama A&M, Birmingham-Southern, Clayton State, Jacksonville State, Miles, Point University, Towson and Troy

Troy sent six men throwers to land marks in the discus, hammer throw and shot put at the Strawberry Relays hosted by Southeastern Louisiana on March 2.Â

In the meet, junior Jess Jacobsen led the way in the discus, finishing in second place with a 45.76m mark. In the hammer throw, sophomore Jordan Poole notched third place after launching a 49.12m mark which bested his previous personal record by more than five meters. Junior Austin Snyder finished in third in the shot put to lead the Trojans with a distance of 14.63 meters.Â
