Sarah Harrison Named Sun Belt Women’s Golfer of the Week

TROY, Alabama – Fresh off a school-record setting performance, Troy senior Sarah Harrison has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.
Harrison fired a 6-under 65 in Monday's second round of the Spring Break Shootout to tie Fátima Fernández Cano for the lowest round in school history and the lowest score vs. par in school history.
Her round is the lowest in the Sun Belt this season and tied for the 14th lowest in the country. Harrison carded eight birdies in the round and made the turn with a remarkable 5-under 30 on her card. Additionally, Harrison's 65 helped Troy shoot a 4-under 280 as a team which is the second lowest round in the Sun Belt this season and second lowest in school history.
The Augusta, Ga., native tied for seventh overall in the event and finished second in the field of 86 golfers with 14 birdies in the three rounds. Harrison's 142 after 36 holes tied the seventh lowest in Troy history.
Harrison is the first Troy golfer to earn Sun Belt weekly honors since Cano took home a flurry of awards in 2017.
Troy returns to action in just next week when it travels to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico for the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational hosted by Iowa.
