Guo Leads Troy Past Nicholls State

THIBODAUX, Louisiana – Troy defeated Nicholls State, 4-2, on Monday at the Colonel Tennis Complex to close out a two-match Louisiana road trip.
Troy's Chunxi Guo defeated Nicholls State's Lingfeng Gu, 6-3, 7-6, to up her singles record to 4-3 and clinched the match for the Trojans. Troy improved to 4-3 and have won two straight matches, while Nicholls State fell to 2-4 on the year.
The Trojans are now 3-0 on the road with a trio of matches away from home upcoming.
DOUBLES
• Guo and Pei Ju Hsieh rolled past Marina Vigil and Antonia Roessli with a 6-0 victory to open doubles play. Guo and Hsieh are now 7-0 in doubles play this season.
• Celia Montero Estevan and Maria Casas Blas clinched the doubles point for Troywith a 6-3 victory over Lingfeng Gu and Mariia Kozachok.
SINGLES
• Hsieh won her fifth straight singles match defeating Daphne Haverkamp, 6-3, 6-0.
• Vigil dropped Tingting Pei, 6-1, 6-2.
• Estevan topped Antonia Roessli, 6-0, 6-4, to put the Trojans up 3-1.
• Barnett secured a victory 6-1, 7-6 over Matea Mihaljevic.
