Troy Hosts Georgia Southern Saturday

GAME NOTES

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's basketball team looks to rebound after a disappointing home loss with a 2 p.m. matchup against Georgia Southern in Trojan Arena Saturday.

The Trojans (17-6, 8-4 SBC) fell, 85-70, to Georgia State Thursday and dropped to fourth in the Sun Belt Conference standings. Troy got a season-high 17 points from Jasmine Robinson on 6-of-14 shooting.

Georgia Southern (7-16, 2-10) has dropped 11 of its last 13 games, including a 97-81 defeat to Troy on Jan. 17. The Eagles didn't go down quietly knocking down 12 threes in the game.

Troy has won 13 straight in the all-time series and have not lost to Georgia Southern since the 1978-79 season.

Georgia Southern fell at South Alabama on Thursday, 73-60. The Jauars used a 12-3 run during the early part of the fourth quarter to pull away. Alexis Brown led the Eagles with 21 points, the junior guard form Madison, Ga., paces the Sun Belt averaging 17.7 points per contest.
