Troy, Ala. – Troy men's basketball travels to Atlanta, Ga., to face Georgia State on Wednesday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. with the game broadcast live on ESPN+.Â

The Trojans (11-12, 4-7 Sun Belt) stopped a four-game losing streak with a hard fought 84-79 win over Arkansas State on Saturday. The win completed the regular-season sweep of the Red Wolves and marked the fifth victory for Troy in the last six meetings.

In the game, sophomore Javan Johnson led the Trojans with 20 points, tying his career high, on 60 percent (6-of-10) shooting from the field with four made three-pointers. Johnson also recorded six rebounds, two assists and a block.Â

Senior Alex Hicks followed right behind with a near double double in 19 points and nine rebounds alongside three assists. Sophomore Darian Adams added 12 points while freshman Spencer Rodgers poured in a career-high tying 12 points on a career-high four three-pointers made.

On the season, senior Jordon Varnado leads the Trojans averaging 21.5 points per game, second-most in SBC on 52.6 percent shooting while grabbing 7.8 rebounds per game, sixth-most in conference.

Hicks paces the team in rebounds per game (8.0) which is the fifth-most in conference while shooting 54.2 percent (117-216), third-highest in Sun Belt. Adams leads the team in assists per game averaging 3.4.

Troy currently sits second in the Sun Belt Conference in blocks per game averaging 4.7 and is third in the conference shooting 47.7 (630-1321) percent from the field.

Georgia State's second half comeback came just short in a 76-72 loss to Louisiana on Saturday to move the Panthers to 16-8 on the season and 7-4 in conference. The loss also put the Panthers in second place in the Sun Belt Conference standings.Â

In the game, senior Devin Mitchell led the Panthers with 21 points, three rebounds and a pair of assists. Junior D'Marcus Simonds added 19 points, six boards, a block and a steal.Â

Simonds leads the team averaging 19.0 points per game, sixth in conference while grabbing 5.1 rebounds per game and dishing 3.5apg, both second-highest on the team. The Panthers lead the conference averaging 5.0 blocks per game as a unit.
