ORANGEBURG, South Carolina - The Troy men's tennis secured its second victory of the weekend after the close win against South Carolina State (0-3), 4-3. The Trojans (6-0) took the advantage of four singles wins.
Christopher Tasker made his debut in the doubles play as he was partnering with Luis Foix for the first time. The duo defeated their opponents from South Carolina State, 6-2.
Pelayo Antuna defeated Juan Ramirez at No.1 spot, 6-1, 6-2, while Oskar Michalek defeated Aleksa Daskalovic in two sets, 6-2, 6-4. Christopher Tasker clinched the deciding point in a three-set match against Gerardo Bontifaccio, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Jiaqi Duan was able to get a confident win at No.4 spot, 6-1, 6-3. Antonio Selma came very close but was defeated in the third set by Selim Ben Ali, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3.
The Trojans will head out for their road trip on Monday, Feb.11 at Wofford College. The first serve is set for 2 p.m.
