Troy Opens Spring with Win Over Alabama A&M

TROY, Alabama - The Troy women's tennis team earned its first win of the spring with a 7-0 victory over Alabama A&M on Friday.
The Trojans (1-0) swept both single and doubles action while only dropping one set. Matea Mihaljevic earned a victory int he top spot defeating Beatriz Gutierrez, 6-2, 6-2. Tingting Pei and Pei Ju Hsieh each had dominating, 6-1, 6-1, wins.
Chunxi Guo knocked off Ximena Ramirez in the No. 3 and Celia Montero Estevan battled back to take down Anita Bozhko, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Troy returns to action on Sunday at 11 a.m. as it hosts Chattanooga at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. Alabama A&M (0-1) takes on Chattanooga in Troy on Saturday.
