TROY, Ala. – Troy softball head coach Beth Mullins announced the signing of Chipola College standout, Brianna Bailey, on Monday. The pitcher will join the class of 2020 on campus in the fall.
Â
"We are beyond excited to welcome Brianna into the Troy Softball family," Mullins said. "She is a great fit for this program and Troy University, and she is going to add a very talented arm in the circle for us."
Â
The Wewahitchka, Fla., native signs with Troy after a stellar freshman season at Chipola College, where she helped lead the Lady Indians to a national championship following a 52-5 season last year alongside current Trojan Candela Figueroa.
Â
During the 2019 campaign, Bailey was dubbed the Panhandle Conference Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Panhandle Conference, NJCAA Third Team All-American and a three-time NJCAA Pitcher of the Week.
Â
Bailey is expected to make an immediate impact inside the circle for the Trojans. Last season, Bailey boasted 22 wins and a save that was highlighted by five shutouts, three no-hitters, 190 strikeouts and an impressive 1.26 ERA over her 155 innings of action.
Â
"Along with her talent, she has won championships in both high school and junior college," Mullins said. "She is going to bring an attitude of winning that we are always looking for."
Â
After completing her sophomore season with the Lady Indians, the incoming junior will have two years of eligibility at Troy.
