TROY, Ala. – Troy heads to in-state rival South Alabama Tuesday for a match with major Sun Belt Conference implications. The Trojans and Jaguars are both 8-2 in conference play this season and are part of a three-way tie at the top of the East Division.
"It should be a really fun in-state rivalry match with a lot on the line in terms of conference standing," head coach Josh Lauer said. "I don't know if South Alabama and Troy have ever had a match with this much at stake."
Troy heads into a hostile environment where South Alabama has won 12-straight matches, tied for the tenth longest home winning streak in the nation. The Trojans are looking for their first win in Mobile since 2014.
"I think our team knows it's a difficult place to play," Lauer said. "It's a cramped gym and they always make it a tough place to play, especially when we're there. The motivation for us is pretty clear."
The Matchup: Troy (18-4, 8-2 Sun Belt) vs. South Alabama (16-7, 8-2 Sun Belt)
