TROY, Ala. – Troy puts its 11-match home win streak – tied for the ninth longest in the nation – on the line Friday and Saturday as it plays host to Georgia State and Georgia Southern. First serve for both matches are set for 6:30 p.m. inside Trojan Arena.
The conference tournament race is heating up as teams jostle for position to try and clinch a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Troy currently sits at second place in the East Division but has a difficult conference schedule ahead, all against teams from the East.
"We're all battling for position and trying punch our ticket to the conference tournament," head coach Josh Lauer said. "The sooner we clinch our position the better. Georgia State is in the hunt for that and Georgia Southern took it to us last time, so I think both teams will be coming in looking for ways to keep their seasons rolling. It'll be a big challenge and I'm thankful to have them at home this time."
The Trojans are coming off their second-ever win over UT Arlington, completing a 5-1 record against West Division teams this season.

Troy enters the weekend averaging 13.97 kills per set and 12.94 assists per set, both of which lead the league and rank 19th in the nation. Amara Anderson has been a driving force behind those numbers, running the Trojan offense as one of the top setters in the country. The sophomore is fourth nationally in assists/set (11.51) and 11th nationally in total assists (817).
Cheyenne Hayes often finds herself on the other side of Anderson's sets and is now 10th all-time on Troy's career kills list with 1,010. The opportunity to move further up the list is there as the junior is only 10 kills shy of ninth on the list (Kristi Hagel, 1,019).
Jeffcoat Receives League Honor
Lacey Jeffcoat garnered Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week Honors for the first time in her career. The sophomore averaged 6.14 digs per set in two matches last weekend, including a season-high 25 total digs in Troy's win over UT Arlington.
Know Your Opponent – Georgia State
Troy bested the Panthers in their last meeting, 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-14, 25-17) on October 5. Meisheia Griffin led Georgia State with 11 kills while Sydney Stroud added seven. Georgia State is one of the most physical teams in the league at the net. The Panthers lead the Sun Belt in blocks with 162 on the year (2.16 avg/s), something that has been problematic at times for Troy this season.
Know Your Opponent – Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern got the best of Troy in the teams' last meeting on October 4. The Eagles defeated Troy in four sets, 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-18, 26-24) behind 14 kills from Maddie Bryant. Georgia Southern surrenders the 11th-most kills per set in the league to opposing teams so look the Trojan hitters to come out swinging.
