Troy Set For Pair of Cross-Division Matches

Troy, Ala. – Troy volleyball returns to Trojan Arena following its first Sun Belt road trip of the season as the Trojans welcome ULM and Louisiana to town for a pair of cross-division matchups. The Trojans (13-3, 3-1 Sun Belt) will square off with ULM Friday and Louisiana Saturday. First serve for both matches are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

"These are important divisional crossover matches and I'm glad that we have them at home," head coach Josh Lauer said. "We're not taking anyone for granted and we're fighting hard to stay at the top of the conference. It's a priority for us."

Troy enters the weekend ranked 12^th nationally in opponent hitting percentage, holding teams to an average of .147 hitting on the year. The Trojans are also 23^rd in the country in kills per set (13.82) and 25^th in assists per set (12.82).

Amara Anderson continues to run the Trojan offense as one of the top setters in the country. Her 11.25 assists per set lead the Sun Belt and rank 12^th in the nation. Cheyenne Hayes remains Troy's go-to hitter and is 20^th nationally in kills per set (4.48). The junior is just 44 kills away from her 1,000th career kill.

Lacey Jeffcoat has led the Trojans at the service line so far this season, averaging 0.52 aces per set, the 18^th- best mark in the country. Natalie Hummel has also been strong at the line with 21 aces on the year.

Know Your Opponent – ULM
Troy owns the overall series over the Warhawks 14-4 and won last season's matchup, 3-1. ULM's hitting percentage of .215 sits at fourth in the conference and is nearly identical to Troy's percentage of .216. The Warhawks are led offensively by Mikaela Worley who has 205 total kills and averages 3.47 kills per set. Kate Blasingame is ULM's biggest asset at the service line, averaging 0.40 aces per set for the fifth-best mark in the league.

Know Your Opponent – Louisiana
Troy leads the overall series against Louisiana 11-10 and won last year's match, 3-1. The Ragin' Cajuns 1-3 Sun Belt record is not indicative of how good they are as Louisiana opened its conference schedule against some of the league's best teams. In conference matches, Louisiana leads the Sun Belt in digs per set with 18.00.

The Trojans are off to a 13-3 (3-1 Sun Belt) start under third-year head coach Josh Lauer. Troy's 13 wins this season are the most in the Lauer era.
