Lafayette, La. – Troy men's basketball will face Louisiana on Saturday at 7 p.m. inside of Cajundome with the game broadcast live on ESPN+.

Suits & Sneakers Week
The coaches will wear sneakers in honor of Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Week. Suits and Sneakers Week is a nationwide event that unites coaches across the country to raise funds and awareness about the fight against cancer and promotes the American Cancer Society as a source of inspiration and hope for those facing cancer.

Coaches and their staffs across the nation wear sneakers with their suits during games to raise awareness and help save lives by raising funds and encouraging people to educate themselves about cancer prevention, screening and early detection.

The Trojans (10-9, 3-4 SBC) dropped a hard-fought 75-69 decision to ULM on Thursday night. Senior Jordon Varnado led the way with a game-high 29 points, tying his career high for the third consecutive game with 12 field goals made. Varnado also posted six rebounds, four assists, a block and a steal.

Senior Alex Hicks dropped 14 points with nine rebounds while sophomore Javan Johnson added 12 points and eight rebounds.

On the season, Varnado leads the Trojans averaging 21.1 points per game, second in the Sun Belt Conference on 52.4 percent shooting while grabbing 7.6 rebounds per game, sixth-most in conference.

Hicks paces the team in rebounds per game (7.9) which is the fifth-most in conference while averaging 11.8 points. Sophomore Darian Adams leads the team in assists per game with averaging 3.3.

Scouting Louisiana
Four players scored 15 or more points in Louisiana's 88-84 win over South Alabama. After the win, Louisiana improved to 12-7 overall and 3-3 in conference action.

In the game, senior JaKeenan Gant scored a team-high 28 points with eight rebounds, three blocks, an assist and a steal. Junior PJ Hardy added 18 points while junior Jerekius Davis poured in 17 and sophomore Cedric Russell tallied 15 points.

Gant leads the team averaging 20.9 points, third in conference while grabbing 8.3 rebounds per game, fourth-most in conference. Senior Marcus Stroman leads the Ragin' Cajuns and the Sun Belt Conference in steals per game averaging 2.4.

Series History
Saturday's matchup marks the 23rd meeting between Troy and Louisiana. The Ragin' Cajuns hold the series advantage, 16-6. The Trojans dropped the last contest in the Cajundome, 81-69 on Jan. 27, 2018.

In the last meeting, Troy's comeback effort fell short in a 81-76 loss on Feb. 22, 2018 in Trojan Arena. Then-junior Alex Hicks posted a double double in 14 points and 10 rebounds while then-senior Wesley Person scored 21 points with five boards.
