2018 Troy Volleyball Classic Begins Friday

TROY, Ala. – Troy is set to host the 2018 Troy Classic featuring Kennesaw State, Florida A&M and Jacksonville State to close out the final non-conference weekend of the season Friday and Saturday at Trojan Arena.

First serve against Kennesaw State is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. game times against Florida A&M and Jacksonville State Saturday. Historically, Troy is 25-27 (.481) all-time against the three opponents.

The Trojans (4-5) are returning home after back-to-back road tournaments at Middle Tennessee and Clemson the past two weekends. The squad finished as the runner up at the Blue Raider Bash before falling in all three matches at the Big Orange Bash last weekend.

Freshman Amara Anderson currently leads the Sun Belt with 374 assists this season. Her 11.33 assists per set average ranks 20th nationally -- she is one of two conference players with a double-digit assists/set ratio.

As a team, the Trojans – led by Cheyenne Hayes's 14 and Lacey Jeffcoat's 10 – rank 36th in the country with 1.73 service aces per set. Hayes also sits at third in the league with 119 kills, while Jeffcoat is eighth with 117 digs.
