TROY, Ala. – Gameday is back at The Vet as fans have even more to be excited about in and around the stadium as the defending Sun Belt Champions are back for another season.
Fans are encouraged to visit TroyTrojans.com/Gameday prior to each visit to campus to see the latest information on parking, traffic flow and tickets for each of Troy's six home games.
United in Cardinal
Troy Athletics is also excited to announce that this game has been dubbed "United in Cardinal" as all Trojan fans are asked to wear Cardinal for this game. This imagery of Trojan Nation uniting in Cardinal will show a national television audience that together we are One TROY.
Thursday Pep Rally
Troy Athletics and the Troy SGA will host a pep rally in The Vet on Thursday prior to the Boise State game beginning at 5:30 p.m. The pep rally is open to all, and Troy University students are asked to enter through the main entrance and sit in the student section.
The pep rally will feature the Sound of the South, Troy Cheerleaders, T-Roy and head football coach Neal Brown. The Troy SGA will present the Spirit Stick to the Troy student organization deemed to have the most school spirit at the pep rally.
Trojan Talk
Troy's weekly radio show with head football coach Neal Brown and "Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight airs live from 6 to 7 p.m. on the Troy Sports Radio Network. Fans in Troy can catch the show live at Santa Fe Cattle Company and enjoy half-priced appetizers and drink specials.
Troy Tailgate Concert Series Presented by Horn Beverage and Bud Light Featuring The Springs
One of the top young country duos on the charts, The Springs, will open Troy's Tailgate Concert Series Presented by Horn Beverage and Bud Light prior to season opener against No. 22 Boise State. The Enterprise, Ala., natives will play in Tailgate Terrace beginning at 2 p.m. in advance of the 5 p.m. kickoff.
The Springs reached No. 33 on the Billboard Country Album Sales chart with their latest album Old Fashioned. Led by title track "Old Fashioned", The Springs' second major release reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers South Central Chart, No. 10 on the Heatseekers Chart and No. 40 on the Independent Albums chart.
Now with back-to-back Billboard charting country albums, The Springs were the 2018 Country Music Association's Spotlight Artist and were featured as the 2017 CMA Festival Emerging Artist.
Troy Kids Zone Presented by Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies
The Troy Kids Zone Presented by Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies opens at 1 p.m. and is located in the outfield of Riddle-Pace Field. Children of all ages are invited to take part in the fun with free inflatables until 4:30 p.m. Additionally, all members of T-Roy's Team will also be able to check in and receive their membership packets and t-shirts.
Trojan Walk
Troy's traditional pre-game march into Veterans Memorial Stadium, Trojan Walk, will begin at the intersection of University Avenue and George Wallace Drive. The Trojans will walk through the brick portal into Tailgate Terrace before entering the stadium at Gate 1. Trojan Walk will begin at 2:45 p.m. for the Boise State game.
Troy Sports Radio Network Pregame Show
"Voice of the Trojans" Barry McKnight, game analyst Jerry Miller and sideline reporter Chris Blackshear will be on the air beginning at 3 p.m. to preview the game on the full Troy Sports Radio Network.
Gigapixel Photo
Troy Athletics and Blakeway Worldwide Panoramas are providing fans another way to commemorate the highly-anticipated season opener against No. 22 Boise State as all fans in attendance in The Vet will be featured in an interactive gigapixel photo that captures an incredible 360-degree view of the stadium.
The photo will take place immediately at the end of the first quarter so fans are encouraged to remain in their seats as this will be the first-ever 360-degree fan photo in the history of Veterans Memorial Stadium. Fans may sign up in advance to receive an alert once the photo is available to view by visiting http://fan.photo/onetroy.
Panoramic Photo
Blakeway Worldwide Panoramas will capture an iconic panoramic photo of the newly renovated Veterans Memorial Stadium during the game. Trojan Fans will have the ability to purchase this photo in a variety of framing options following the game. More details about how and where to purchase the panoramic photo will be released in the days following the game.
Tailgating with the Trojans
Troy's "Tailgating with the Trojans" show is back for a second season. Hosted by Troy University graduate Sarah Drake. The show will be released following every home game via Troy's social media accounts and will highlight all of the great tailgating that takes place during Troy football games.
Guardian Credit Union Fan Zone
Back for a second season is the Guardian Credit Union Fan Zone located in Tailgate Terrace. Fans will have the opportunity to receive free T-shirts, water, fans, Troy face tattoos and koozies. Guardian Credit Union will also be on hand for fans to sign up for Troy University debit and credit cards.
In-Game Host
Troy University graduate Sarah Drake will serve as the in-game host for the season opener against Boise State. Sarah was actively involved in TrojanVision and the Broadcasting Club. She served as a sports anchor and reporter for TROY TrojanVision Nightly and Trojan Sports Now shows. She also worked within the athletic department serving as an anchor for The Social Second, a social media released update on Troy Athletics.
Student Promotions
The first 1,000 Troy University students inside The Vet on Saturday will receive a free Troy shaker courtesy of Guardian Credit Union.
