Troy Football Letterwinners Day Set for Sept. 8

TROY, Ala. – Troy Athletics is inviting all former football letterwinners back to Veterans Memorial Stadium for Football Letterwinners Day on Sept. 8 as the Trojans take on Florida A&M. Additionally, Troy will honor the 1968 NAIA national championship team and the 2008 Sun Belt championship team as part of the festivities.Â

Returning football letterwinners and their families will be treated to a pregame tailgate in Tailgate Terrace and will receive up to four (4) tickets in a special section in The Vet to watch Troy take on Florida A&M. Additionally, returning football letterwinners will also be able to participate in Trojan Walk and take photos on the field of the newly renovated Veterans Memorial Stadium prior to the game.Â

Troy will recognize all the football letterwinners with an on-field presentation during the game and each registered returning football letterwinner will receive a commemorative gift. Kickoff for the game is set for 6 p.m. All returning letterwinners are asked to arrive by 2 p.m. on gameday to check in and take part in the photo opportunity on the field. The Letterwinners Tailgate will take place from 3-5 p.m. at the T-Club Tent with Trojan Walk beginning at 3:45 p.m.Â

Registration for this event is just $25 for T-Club members and $35 for non-members. To register, please contact Jonathan Swalley at (334) 670-3384 or via email at jswalley@troy.edu. Checks can be made payable to the T-Club Letterwinners Association. Those wishing to join the T-Club or renew their membership may also do so as they RSVP for Letterwinners Day. Membership dues start at $50 annually for the T-Club Letterwinners Association and membership is open to all former Troy University student-athletes.Â

Members of the 1968 NAIA national championship team are invited to an exclusive reception on Friday, Sept. 7 to celebrate their 50thAnniversary of their extraordinary season. This reception is open to just returning players and their spouses.Â
