TROY, Ala. – Troy senior Deontae Crumitie has been named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List, the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced Wednesday afternoon. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the nation's top center.
Â
Crumitie, a native of Lake City, Fla., earned All-Sun Belt Second Team honors last season as the leader on Troy's offensive front that finished 12th nationally in fewest sacks allowed. A three-year starter for the Trojans, Crumitie has started 26 consecutive games and 32 total games in his career.
Â
He allowed just one sack in more than 700 snaps in Troy's Sun Belt Conference championship season and graded out at 90 percent or better in seven different contests. Crumitie was credited with three great blocks and two knockdowns in Troy's victory at LSU.
Â
Crumitie is one of 27 repeat selections to the Rimington Trophy Watch List and is one of just 57 total players on the list (one of two from the Sun Belt). He earned All-Sun Belt Preseason First Team honors from Athlon Sports earlier this month.
Â
The Trojans set a school FBS record with 11 wins en route to their sixth Sun Belt Conference championship and a New Orleans Bowl title in 2017. Troy's 21 victories over the past two seasons are the eighth most in the country and the Trojans will carry the nation's fourth-longest active winning streak of seven games into the season opener against Boise State.
Season ticket packages start as low as $60 and all ticket prices are identical to those from 2017. Troy plays host to six home games during the 2018 campaign, including visits from Boise State, Georgia State and Louisiana.
