Not Done Yet; Troy Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA Regional

TROY, Alabama – Troy baseball received an at-large bid to the 2018 NCAA Baseball Championship, the selection committee announced Monday morning. The Trojans will be the third seed in the Athens Regional and will face Duke in the opener on Friday at 1 p.m. (CT).
Joining Troy and Duke in the Athens Regional will be top-seed Georgia and four-seed Campbell. Ticket information for the regional is listed below; all tickets are available through georgiadogs.com.
Troy's 41 wins and RPI ranking of 37th was enough for the committee to give the nod as one of the 33 non-automatic qualifiers in the tournament. This season, the Trojans played a total of 14 games against six other regional-bound teams including two regional hosts – Florida State and Coastal Carolina.
Sun Belt Player of the Year Joey Denison and four other all-conference selections led Troy all season and will get the chance to continue that season in Athens this weekend.
After running right through the winner's bracket, the Trojans had a disappointing finish in the Sun Belt Championship Game Sunday, as top-seeded Coastal Carolina took the crown, 11-6. Prior to that game, the pitching staff had allowed just two runs on 12 hits over 26 innings of work.

*Note: All chairback seats inside the regular Foley Field seating areas will be Reserved Seats during the postseason. General Admission seating will be located in the Right Field Bleachers.
