Troy Battles Adversity on Day Four of Spring Football Practice

TROY, Alabama – Troy returned to the practice field for the fourth time of the spring and head coach Neal Brown was not pleased with the effort put forth by his team on Tuesday. The Trojans spent more than two hours on the grass practice fields behind Trojan Arena.

"I thought today was the worst practice we've had in two years," Brown said. "It lacked intensity and the offense was embarrassing. This football team as it was today was not good enough. My challenge to our football team is to have some toughness about us. We have got to have some guys when things do not go well to step up and we didn't have that today – we really haven't had that the last two practices."

Those were strong words from Brown as the Trojans are coming off back-to-back 10-win seasons, a Sun Belt Conference championship and a pair of bowl titles.

"The standards have been raised," Brown said. "This practice would have been average in 2015 when we weren't very good and couldn't get out of our own way. Right here, we won 21 games and we've have a bunch of guys who have played a ton of football. This was embarrassingly bad today."

The Trojans will have a chance to redeem themselves Thursday afternoon when they return to the practice fields for their fifth practice of the spring.

"The way we practiced today wasn't good enough," senior wide receiver Sidney Davis said. "We just have to come back Thursday with a better mindset and more intensity with the thought of getting better every day."

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2018 season at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Troy plays host to six home games during the 2018 campaign, including visits from Boise State, Georgia State and Louisiana.

Season ticket packages start as low as $60 and all ticket prices are identical to those from 2017. Fans who renew or purchase their tickets by Friday, April 27, will receive numerous incentives including a replica Troy football Sun Belt championship ring.
