Lohbauer Leads Troy in Opening Round of 3M Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Georgia – Bianca Lohbauer fired a 1-over 73 in the opening round of the 3M Augusta Invitational on Friday at the Forest Hills Golf Club. Lohbauer is tied for 13th and Troy is in 11th place overall at 21-over as at team.
Scores were high across the board as only Georgia shot under par with the average individual score in the opening round closing at 76.66 from the field of 87 golfers. The Bulldogs shot 7-under and lead No. 47 Virginia Tech by 12 shots and No. 21 Purdue 13 shots.
Lohbauer made the turn at 1-over with a birdie around a pair of bogeys and stayed that way until the final four holes of her round where she traded two birdies for two bogeys to end the day at 1-over.
Eva Fabricius-Bjerre carded back-to-back birdies on her fourth and fifth holes of the day before making the turn at 1-over. After running her card to 5-over, Fabricius-Bjerre finished strong with a birdie on her second-to-last hole of the day to finish the day tied for 37th at 4-over.
Antonia Poate sits in a tie for 55th place at 7-over, while Lindsey Harrison is tied for 73rd at 9-over following a round with two birdies and Sarah Harrison is tied for 85th at 12-over with one birdie on the day.
Troy will open Saturday's second round beginning at 8:35 (CT) a.m. on No. 10. The Trojans will be playing alongside East Tennessee State and Eastern Michigan.
