Women’s Golf Wraps Rain-Shorted Spring Opener

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Bianca Lohbauer led Troy against a star-studded field in the rain-shorted spring opener for the Trojans. Lohbauer shot a 2-over 74 in Tuesday's lone round of The Dickson at the Woodlands Country Club as Troy finished 16th in a field that featured eight teams ranked in the top 50 nationally.
Lohbauer, who opened the shotgun start on No. 15, was 3-over par following her first nine holes of the day. However, she responded with birdies on No. 9 and No. 10 to get within a stroke of par before a bogey on her final hole; she finished tied for 32nd overall.
Teams were originally scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, but rain washed away Sunday's practice round and both of Monday's rounds.
Sarah Harrison carded a pair of birdies on the day to shoot a 4-over 76 and finish in a tie for 49th place, while Lindsey Harrison was two shots back at 6-over and tied for 65th place with one birdie in her round.
Eva Fabricius-Bjerre finished her round at 8-over and tied for 76th place overall and Antonia Poate had one birdie on the day and shot 10-over to finish tied for 84th.
Troy will have a couple weeks off before returning to action at the 3M Augusta Invitational on March 16-18 in Augusta, Ga.
