GAME NOTES
TROY, Alabama – Troy meets a familiar foe as Alabama State visits Trojan Arena for the 30thmeeting between the schools on Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Trojans (5-1) are coming off victories over Sam Houston State and Mississippi Valley State in the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Classic over the weekend. Japonica James was named the tournament's MVP after averaging 16.5 points and seven rebounds in the two games.
Alabama State (0-4) fell to North Alabama nine days ago and have opened the season winless through four games for the second time in three years. The Hornets last win in Troy was Nov. 21, 2000 – the lone road victory for Alabama State in the series since 1978.

Alabama State plays for the first time in 10 days after taking a 68-42 defeat at North Alabama on Nov. 19. The Lions opened the second quarter on a 12-0 run and held the Hornets scoreless for a four-minute stretch.
Ayana Emmanuel leads the squad averaging 12.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Through the first four game, the Hornets are being outscored by an average of 35.8 points.
