Troy, Ala. – Troy men's basketball will close out its four-game homestand on Thursday, when it welcomes Austin Peay to Trojan Arena. Tip is set for 7:15 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.Â

On Thursday, the Trojans (3-3) shot a season-high 52.6 percent (30-of-57) en route to a 77-58 victory over North Alabama. Senior Jordon Varnado led the way posting his fourth 20-point game of the season in a game-high 20 points alongside six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal.Â

Three Trojans joined Varnado in double figures with seniors BJ Miller and Alex Hicks dropping 18 and 13, respectively while sophomore Darian Adams poured in a career-high 11. Miller's 18 marked his personal best as well as his three three-pointers made.Â

On the season, Varnado leads the team averaging 16.5 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game, the second-highest in the Sun Belt Conference. Hicks adds 12.0 points per contest on 54.5 percent (30-of-55) from the field and Miller leads Troy in assists (3.0) and steals (1.2) per game.

Austin Peay (2-4) suffered a tough 85-82 overtime loss to Ohio on Saturday in Ohio. In the game, the Governors saw five players eclipse double digits led by senior Chris Porter-Bunton posting 16 points with five boards, two assists and three steals. Sophomore Terry Taylor nearly posted a double double in 13 points and eight boards. Taylor leads the team averaging a double double with 18ppg, third-highest in the Ohio Valley Conference, and 11rpg, highest in conference.

Thursday's game will mark the fifth-ever matchup between Austin Peay and Troy with Austin Peay holding the advantage in the series at 4-0. In the last matchup, the Governors slipped past the Trojans, 75-73 in Clarksville, Tenn. on Dec. 19, 2017. Then-senior Wesley Person scored a game-high 28 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and two rebounds. Then-freshman Javan Johnson added 12 points off the bench with four boards, two assists, a block and a steal.Â

The last time the teams played at Trojan Arena was Dec. 5, 2016, where Austin Peay earned an 80-71 win despite then-junior Jeremy Hollimon pouring in a career-high 25 points.
